Oh, Deer!

I opened the back door a little before 8 this morning, and here's what I saw!

I watched him as he sauntered towards the neighbor's yard thinking he would head to the forsythia hedges....

But NO!  He was on the other side of the shed - I'm not sure who was more surprised!

He stood and let me take some pictures of him - so brave!

So handsome!

I didn't have shoes on so I took this last picture and went back into the house...what a nice way to begin the morning!

Oh a lovely young fella! You're right a wonderful way to begin the day. Maybe he'll become a frequent visitor.

Beautiful post! How lucky you are to live an area with so much wild life! I love all the trees, it reminds me of the Sierras, as in Lake Tahoe!

Thanks, Denise - I think it's rutting season now which is probably why he's wandering around. My brother-in-law hunts and said that the bucks act crazy during the rut. A male thing??
:-)

Nancy, I think some of the trees in the Sierras are similar to what we have here. I remember being up there and seeing lots of colors.

So lucky. I always feel happy when I see wildlife in its natural habitat.

Yes, I was lucky, Jasmine - the camera was real close and when I walked around the shed, I almost ran into him! Really, I don't know who was more surprised! We were about 4 to 5 feet or so away from each other. For me, it was love at first sight!
